Add-on for Google Sheets
Export Google Calendar to Google Sheets. And back again.
Pull your events into a spreadsheet with the hours already added up. Or type a list of rows and turn every one into a calendar event. It runs inside Google Sheets, so there is nothing else to sign up for.
Free for 14 days with everything unlocked. No card needed.
-
Runs inside Google SheetsNo separate app, login or dashboard.
-
Your events stay in GoogleWe run no server that could receive them.
-
Never edits or deletes eventsYour existing calendar is left as it is.
What it does
One side panel. Two directions.
Use whichever one you came for. Both are included on every plan.
Calendar to Sheet
See where your time went
Choose your calendars and a date range, then click Export. Every event lands on its own row, with the hours worked out and a total at the bottom.
- Ten columns, including location, description, guests and a link back to the event
- Repeating events get one row for each time they happen
- All-day events are listed, but kept out of the hours total
- Times follow your spreadsheet's time zone
- Good for
- Timesheets
- Client invoices
- Meeting audits
- Monthly reports
Sheet to Calendar
Schedule a whole list in one click
Type or paste your events as rows, select them and click Create. Each row becomes an event in the calendar you pick.
- Uses plain column names: Title, Start, End, Location, Guests and more
- Each row is marked Created, so running it twice never makes duplicates
- Invitation emails go out only if you switch them on
- A ready-made template sheet is one click away
- Good for
- Class timetables
- Shift rotas
- Content calendars
- Event programmes
Daily refresh Pro
A sheet that keeps itself up to date
Switch on daily refresh and the export runs again once a day, in the hour you choose. Open the sheet and the latest events are already there.
- Follows a moving range, such as This month or Last 30 days
- Rewrites the same sheet, so formulas and charts that point at it keep working
- The panel shows when it last ran and how many events it exported
- Good for
- Dashboards
- Weekly reports
- Shared team sheets
How it works
From install to your first export in three steps.
-
Install the add-on
Get DropScribe Calendar Export from the Google Workspace Marketplace and approve the permissions Google shows you.
-
Open it in a spreadsheet
In Google Sheets, follow this menu. The panel opens on the right.
Extensions then DropScribe Calendar Export then Open
-
Export, or create
Tick your calendars, pick the dates and click Export events. To go the other way, select your rows and click Create events.
Column names for creating events
Put these names in row 1, in any order. Only the first two are required.
| Title Required | The name of the event. |
|---|---|
| Start Required | A date, or a date and time. |
| End | Leave it empty and a timed event lasts one hour. |
| All day | Type Yes for an all-day event. |
| Location | Any text. |
| Description | Any text. |
| Guests | Email addresses, separated by commas. |
| Event ID, Status | Filled in by the add-on. Rows that have an Event ID are skipped. |
Seeing “Start is text, not a date”? Select the Start and End columns, then choose Format › Number › Date time and type the dates again.
Start from the template
In the panel, open Create events and choose Add a template sheet. You get a new sheet with every column already named.

Your events go from Google Calendar to your sheet. Nowhere else.
The add-on runs inside your own Google account. We run no server for it, so your calendar and your spreadsheet never reach us.
Read the privacy policyNo server in the middle
There is no DropScribe database of your events. We cannot see, store or sell them.
One spreadsheet at a time
It can read and write only the spreadsheet you open it in, not the rest of your Drive.
It adds. It never changes.
It reads events and adds new ones when you ask. It never edits or deletes an event.
One thing leaves Google
If you buy Pro, your licence key is checked with Dodo Payments. Nothing from your calendar or sheet is sent.
What Google will ask you to allow, and why
| Permission | Why the add-on needs it |
|---|---|
| See and edit the spreadsheet you use it in | To write your export and read the rows you select. It cannot open your other files. |
| See the list of your calendars | To show your calendars in the panel so you can choose. |
| See and edit events on your calendars | To read events for an export and to add the ones you create. Google has no “add only” permission, so this wording is wider than what the add-on does. |
| Connect to an external service | To check a licence key with Dodo Payments, our payment provider. |
| Run when you are not present | For the daily refresh. It does nothing unless you switch that on. |
| Show a panel inside Google Sheets | To display the side panel itself. |

Questions
The things people ask before installing.
Not covered here? Write to us and a person will read it.
Email supportWhich calendars can I export?
Any calendar in your Google Calendar list where you can see the event details: your own, ones shared with you, and ones you have subscribed to, such as public holidays. Calendars that only show you free and busy times are left out.
How are repeating events handled?
Each time a repeating event happens inside your date range, it gets its own row. A weekly meeting shows up four or five times in a month.
How are the hours worked out?
Hours are the end time minus the start time, to two decimal places, with a total under the last row. All-day events are listed, but their hours are left empty, so a day off does not add 24 hours to your total.
Which time zone are the times in?
Your spreadsheet's time zone. You can see or change it in Google Sheets under File, then Settings.
If I create events twice, will I get duplicates?
No. When a row becomes an event, the add-on writes an Event ID and the word Created beside it. Rows that already have an Event ID are skipped the next time.
Can it change or delete events I already have?
No. It reads events so it can export them, and it adds new events when you ask. It has no feature that edits or deletes an event.
Do guests get invitation emails?
Only if you switch invitations on before you create the events. It is off to begin with, so guests are added to the event quietly.
What happens when the 14-day trial ends?
The add-on keeps working on the Free plan: 1 calendar and 50 events per export, 10 events created per run, and no daily refresh. Nothing in your sheets or your calendar is removed.
How do I switch on Pro?
Buy a plan and Dodo Payments, our payment provider, emails you a licence key. In the side panel choose Upgrade and paste the key. One key works on up to 3 Google accounts.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time. When your subscription ends, the add-on goes back to the Free plan. Your sheets and calendar events stay exactly as they are.
Does it work on a phone?
The add-on runs in Google Sheets in a browser on a computer. The Google Sheets mobile apps do not run add-ons. Sheets it has filled in open on any device.
Try it on this month's calendar.
